Presumably it's for a fashion shoot or photo collection of some sort, so the poses, costumes and looking at the camera all make sense. Bodies are pretty stylized to make them taller/slimmer/very long legs, but not too horribly since things are kept more or less in proportion. So I dunno, matter of taste?

The real answer is the typical "they don't understand art". The art is amazing and go read NOTO's books and see how great her art is.

Guess so, thought maybe there was some horribly wrong detail that you'd knew only if you knew enough about the original work, but guess not.

Not sure about it, I thought the same at first, but I think this is caused by the frame being too narrow, making it seems like it's some perspective, but the butterfly are "flat" and the rest of the background, if you look at it more closely, doesn't really have perspective.

I think maybe some didn't like because without context the background and their cloths make it look like they're working in a brothel or doing porn, but like Nezchan said they are modeling, I was curious about the context so I had a look at pixiv, the post name is 蘭あお セクシーランジェリー広告, Google translate as Orchid blue sexy lingerie ad, it's also tagged as Yuri.

蘭あお or RanAo is short for Ran x Aoi and yes, this is in fact an artwork that depicts an advertisement of sexy lingerie sorta like Victoria's Secret.

Actually, looking closer it makes a bit more sense. On the top I was seeing the ceiling of a large oval room. But in reality it's actually curtains draped over a flat, fairly dull-looking wall.

And yeah the serie is about idols so it could only be a shooting, I don't think it would be uploaded if they were not sure this was Yuri, but what I said before is the only reason I can think to not like this image, maybe because it's underaged girls in sexy lingerie?
Thanks for the correction Lazy_Lily_SHiN, portmanteau couple names can really screw translation, and Google translations sometimes are already screwed without them..

If that's what bother people, frankly, they should altogether drop mangas and anime as it often have underage girls portrayed in sexy, if not sexual, situations ^^; And there are far more explicit pics of those two around this site anyway.
