Doesn't this need the NSFW tag with the wives doing 'MARRIED' things under the sheet, so to speak?

PineconeJuice They got "married" in the first episode and in the last were shown to be wearing wedding rings. Show Director also said in an interview attached to the blue ray they were married.

I'm pretty sure PineconeJuice is joking, in a way. Making sarcastic comments that ridicule the official sources more accurately. There's probably a better word than joking or sarcastic here, but I'm too tired to think of one.

I think with things like this it's difficult to read it as a joke. Mainly because a whole variety of people, people in yuri centric communities and homophobes alike, are still trying to dismiss this couple. Often using the same reasons, so for example we're often having to say that the random homophobic Bandai Producer was not the final word about their marriage, and instead the actual series director got the last word in with saying they're married. Plus the show is clear about their marriage even with the restrictions the creative team faced.
I think it's something where people are very tired of having to defend this couple and other couples, I know I am at least. So even if it's a joke I do wish it's something that people didn't joke about.

Yeah, it's a shit joke. Homophobic Bandai Producer-kun isn't going to see your hilarious joke variation #287, but you are undermining one of the most prominent f/f couples in anime. Instead of celebrating the artists' achievement, you're making fans remember a highly unpleasant event by repeating the talking points of homophobic trolls.

PineconeJuice certainly didn't mean anything by it as we do commonly make fun of the Bandai production company in this manner with their dumb official stance. However, that's because we're in our own little bubble here and on the discord, so I don't want to sound dismissive of your reasonable explanation that this canon pairing is still under attack by chuds elsewhere, like on Twitter.
Sarcasm is harder to transmit over text, so I would rather give the benefit of the doubt here as compared to those other places.
Edit: Fixed false claim that the director was part of the anti-canon

The director wasn't the issue as far as I know and he confirmed their marriage, it was the Bandai producer that dismissed it. Anyhow, I'm not trying to say PineconeJuice wasn't making a joke, and I apologize if I was rude to them. More that it's difficult for those types of jokes to come across as funny to me because homophobes will also use similar lines to dismiss relationships like this. That's what I meant by difficult to read as a joke, where even if I know they're joking it still doesn't land for me for the reasons I explained. Plus it's understandable why some people might not see it as a joke.
I wanted to explain why the joke in my opinion is in poor taste, and it plays into the harmful narrative that homophobes push to dismiss this relationship, and many other relationships like it. It's a sore spot for me and I think many others but again I apologize if I was rude, my intent was that I wanted to explain how I felt about it, which I think is reasonable at least.

I don't believe you were rude and I do fully appreciate your explanations and your understanding. I do believe Kankneet's more ticked off approach on getting this point across did not help. As it's a sore spot, I think this approach to trying to push people towards, essentially, finding better jokes was good, thank you.

Everyone knows it was a joke, that is not the issue. It's an unfunny, unpleasant joke that echoes homophobic talking points. I don't want to see it when I look at SuleMio pictures here.
