ik this isnt really the place to discuss this but I really hate the fact people somehow managed to make the yaoi couple more popular than the main yuri pairing, or it could just be my feed giving me the wrong things

^ Is that the case? I've only ever seen people talk about Kaguya and Iroha on the platforms I've been on. What yaoi ship even is there to like from the movie?

^ Look up the CPK tag on AO3. Might not even actually be yaoi, Noi may be trans.

I mean even on AO3, there's way more F/F fics than there are M/M.
If you're talking about Twitter then yeah there are quite a few MikaNoi comics and pictures that blew up, but I definitely wouldn't say it's a more popular ship than IroKagu/IroYachi.

That's news to me that MikaNoi could even be remotely as popular. You need to follow more yuri accounts lol. There is practically a new artist that pops up everyday to exclusively draw IroKagu or IroYachi, or both. Isn't it amazing that there can be ship purists (only Kagu or Yachi) for what is essentially the same person? Yuri is amazing.

I've seen a joke here on Dynasty that most Yuri artists started with Touhou. I wonder if Cosmic Princesa Kaguya will be the next Touhou.

^ Imho that's highly unlikely. Looks like most CPK himejins got into it precisely because it's yuri, making this a "preaching to the choir" kind of situation.
Touhou in contrast (or it's western quasi-equivalent Undertale) has a vast and sprawling fanbase covering every thinkable niche, which abets migration between sub-fandoms to and fro femslash. E.g. you could probably consume Touhou horror media centred on Koishi as a full time job without ever running out of it, but eventually you'll encounter Koishi x Flandre and bam, you just earned your yuri goggles.
CPK on the other hand has like 10 named characters, half of which get less lines than I am making you read right now, and the overall potential for non-romantic fanworks is low. Heck, look at KPop Demon Hunters (which catapulted polyyuri into the AO3 Top 15); it's very likely that movie got more artists into yuri than CPK.
Also, the Touhou thing is true at least for Nakatani Nio. Though I think there are also plenty of artists who started out with PreCure and other Mahou Shoujo.

Last time I checked Pixiv CPK tags are mostly the girls (being gay) with occasional Noi. Yeah I think it's just your circle. Get yuri circle.
