Sam is also in the animated series, mostly season 2. The animated series wasn't very good unfortunately, and didn't get renewed for a 3rd season, but I hope we get another animated series with them in the future.
I've heard Sam is comics as well though I'm not familiar with them. I've also heard that Lara and Sam would have kissed by now if the higher ups didn't always shoot the idea down.

^The "kiss under a mistletoe" are like 99% under a holly. Hell, I don't remember last time when i actually saw a mistletoe in these kind of artworks.

Yeah holly is very commonly conflated for mistletoe, which I think holly looks more visually appealing so that might be part of why. I'm biased though and don't care for mistletoe in general, speaking as someone who has cleaned mistletoe off trees due to it being a parasite.
