I'm not against fan art, in fact I encourage it. I must say however, CONTEXT IS IMPORTANT!!!!!!! It's still a nice picture though.

^^Yeah, care to enlighten us about the context in question?

I see absolutely nothing in the picture that could be badly interpreted, even for someone who doesn't know anything about the story. That's just lovely art, no context needed

From the looks of it, Aya and Mitsuki spent the night together, and it clearly seems to be based on the latest chapter, where they’re adults now. Mitsuki has new tattoos, one around her left arm and another on her right forearm, and Aya looks like she’s snoozing her alarm, so I don’t really see what’s wrong with the photo.

Maybe they thought the alarm was a remote for a toy? I don’t know

^If they mistook "context" and "consent" it would make sense.

No question about consent, their relationship is completely legit. I meant by context was the timeline. When was this? 3 days after the music festival? A week after graduation? Maybe 4 years later in college? Was this the morning after a party, or a normal morning before going to work? I enjoy the story and love the characters so while I like this artwork, it looks to me like it's trying to advance the story and I'd like to understand how and why they got there.

It's fan art, doesn't really matter when this is supposed to be, as it's not an actual part of the story.
Sure, if that was official art by the author, the time frame might be important as it implies as to when their relation became physical, but here ? Doesn't really matter. ^^;

Yeah the artist is drawing a scene with the characters for fun, which is normal with fanart. Though the artist's post mentions that they're adults here, so if a person wants a mental timeline for context of the fanart they could simply say "sometime when they're adults they have sex". Which would fit the series well. Also if someone wanted to go deeper they could ask the artist what they think the time frame is, or you can invent your own head canon around the art.
