Btw I've been wondering this for a while but does "Scanty" mean anything or is it just a pun on "Panty"?

^ It means "little", "of low number(s)" or "few", and I'd consider it a fossil word that survived through the idiom "scantily clad" describing people wearing as good as nothing.

It feels a bit odd to call it a fossil word when scant (e.g. scant evidence) is also still in use.

The most unforgivable part of the episode is that Stocking didn't immediatly to into heat when the chains came out. It's one of her more iconic character traits from the og, hard to imagine they just forgot.

^^ If not fossilized, then certainly suffering from Münchmeyer disease. The google ngram speaks volumes, yet I must admit that "scant" did indeed overtake its brethren. A closer look at the most likely following words reveale the multi-purpose "scanty" having nigh completely declined, with the terms "scant attention", "scantily clad" and "scant evidence" (or variations thereof) making up the bulk of remaining usage.
