I wish people didn't make their own art look worse to screw with AI companies. It's not like you can even use post-AI data collections for training because they can contain AI work.

^ That's a rather harsh accusation.

Also, I seriously doubt AI companies have a problem regurgitating their own output. They've almost ingested everything at this point; they aren't going to decide to simply stop providing training data because everything's tainted now.

Isn't that literally a problem that these "AI Companies" have? That they got through so many images and data that their AI started to use their own AI "creations" to train further, devolving even more in enshittification of their quality?

^ It's called Model Collapse and it's so bad you need a degree to fully grasp just how dire the situation is. (Search arxiv for that term and learn many new ways to say "we're so screwed"). However, the tragedy of the commons really is old enough to have become a comedy by now, isn't it~~~

Anyway, my above-median-but-still-somewhat-layperson take is that poisoning like this is not just too little, too late, but also ineffective simply by necessarily being based on the previous generation; it's a cat-and-mouse game in favour of the tormentum nexus.
