I will say in seriousness though that while those elements aren't my thing, I'm glad to see that people are enjoying the game and it seems to be doing well.

^ Indeed. Yandere media intersects surprisingly many motivations. Some like the idea of a truly assertive lover who resorts to extreme measures. Others fantasize about lovers whose affection is as unconditional as it is absolute (i.e. your yandere will never leave or cheat on you). Certain people actually project themselves on the yandere, maybe because of personal dark intents, maybe because the feeling of overflowing with love is very relatable. And then there's the "if evil, why hot?" crowd...
Plenty of reasons to enjoy yandere, and all are based to be honest.

I enjoy some horror movies, but a lot of them I don't personally understand the appeal of myself. So that's an interesting comparison for me. Also yeah Yandere types aren't generally my cup of tea, unless they're very mild. Some "if evil why hot" characters I do like, but it really depends on how evil we're talking, evil in what way, and the specific circumstances and so fourth.
Also I should say again I do genuinely mean that I'm glad to see people enjoying the game. I just find it funny how many people I've seen on social media saying, I want to be drugged and held against my will by this hot woman, I don't personally understand the appeal but more power to the people having fun. As was said by Zokoi, fiction is a good place to enjoy all different kinds of things.
