It's sad to say but the fact that they both slept with Anthy's brother, in the series taints the whole franchise for me.

Just in case someone who hasn't watched the show stumbles upon this comment section and gets the wrong idea about Utena from one of the above comments: Utena and Anthy didn't "sleep with" Anthy's brother, (spoilers from now on) they were assaulted by him. And the show treats it as the assault that it was. How do you miss the point of the whole show so bad.....
