^The presented plan for Nintendo Switch 2 first party games is 80 dollars digital and 90 physical. I also say "presented plan", because currently pre-orders on the Switch 2 are delayed due to world happenings, and we might see the price of everything here actually become worse. It's a whole mess, and I'm just going to go outside to look at flowers or something, as that's actually affordable lol
Edit: Due to new information I removed, "but from my understanding physical is reported to be something like a Switch 1 cartridge and a code for Switch 2...which is also not consumer friendly."

^Yeah it's really not great sadly. Nintendo is one of the foundational blocks for why I love video games, and I can't see myself getting a Switch 2 at present with how things are.

^^^ Only select physical games are download codes, and it's almost certain that no first-party games will be in that format. Hell, even Cyberpunk is a proper physical cart with the whole game on it. It's a way to get cheapo publishers on board who don't want their game's physical edition to require a higher-capacity cart. This was a thing for Switch 1 as well.
The higher price was inevitable. Consider games were $60 over a decade ago. Nintendo bit the bullet first because they generally avoid changing prices within a console generation.

Yeah, the cartridges without games are only a product of misunderstanding what the presentation spoke of. The prices are a touchy subject, but in regards to the games being no longer physical, that's just a plain old lie

^ I won't say the price increase doesn't suck, especially if you live in a place where, say, wages are stagnant. It was going to happen at some point, though.

Yeah Adawal, apologies I just heard that the information of the physical release being switch 1 carts with codes for switch 2 wasn't accurate. Seems we really need to let the dust settle and to see what happens, because all the information going around seems to be a mixed bag of accuracy unfortunately. Also Galim for pricing it's hard to say? A lot of great indy games with more value than your average triple A game are still 30 and under, it feels like a lot of the increase to 70 dollars was testing the waters to see if they could get away with people still buying the games at that price, which I heard had some mixed results, and then 80 / 90 dollars for Nintendo really seems to be pushing the limits of what people can accept.

The game price increase is a long time coming, but maaan it hit at the absolute worst time.
It hurts even more because there were so many games announced that I would very much like to play. Hopefully Gamefly is able to get most of the physical releases.
ANYWAY, Tomodachi Life!! I liked the original, but it got stagnant pretty quick because I had nobody to StreetPass with. All of my Mii children were eternally stuck at the docks, waiting for a journey that would never begin ;_;
