So, is it a site rule that every batch of image uploads has to include at least one touhou image? Seriously, I've been on this site for like 5 years and I don't remember wver seeing batch without one
Not that I'm complaining, I love touhou yuri

^^ It's a site rule that every image batch must be 90% gacha games and vtubers, we're lucky something other than that occasionally slips through.

If I count correctly current batch hace 15/30 Vtubers/Gacha images. LoveLive had an anime before gacha if I remember so it doesn't count ;p

^Yeah I wouldn't count Love Live, Fate, Pokemon, Touhou, and others that started out as non gacha media to begin with, and got gacha games later. As you said we get a good amount of stuff that's not gacha or vtubers, it's just that gacha and vtubers are part of what's currently popular with a lot of people, artists, shippers, and so fourth. Personally I enjoy the majority of it, gachas and vtubers provide for fun shipping imo, and so does other media, along with classic ships and like.

^^ Not a site rule, but a good idea for one. I'd up the number, though.

I was very confused as to why touhou was being categorized under "Gatcha games and Vtubers" but then I remembered that Lost Word exists

^Yeah one of my favorite Vtubers went to their studio when she went to Japan if I remember correctly, so lots of overlap here funnily

Alright, I did some counting across all batches since April 1st. It's a total of 397 images excluding irregular uploads (except one I'm to lazy to remove from the dataset now).
There was a total of 69 Vtuber images, of which 63 were hololive; thats 17% and 16% of all uploads, respectively. Touhou had less than half of that at 33 matches (8%). The third most popular was Love Live! with a total of 25 (6%), 8 of which were Nijigasaki Academy School Idol Club, 7 Hasunosora Jogakuin School Idol Club and 5 Superstar!!. No batch went without any of these three.
After that, we got Zenless Zone Zero (23), then Gundam (22, split evenly 12/12 between GQuuuuuuX and The Witch from Mercury with minor overlap) followed by BanG Dream! (19).
After that, it's a mere 18 Originals.
Trailing, we've got 17 gay Voice Synthesizer (15 VOCALOID and 9 UTAU, i.e. significant overlap here due to Miku x Teto), Bocchi The Rock! tied with Honkai: Star Rail and Pokémon at 9 each, Blue Archive tied with Genshin Impact at 7 each, Sekai Project at 6, RWBY at 5, and Dungeon Meshi unexpectedly only at 4, tied with FFⅦ. Noteworthy, there's only one Fire Emblem image, and it's not Edeleth. Everything else was at 3 or less uploads. There also have been no funamusea-related uploads since 2022-01-18.
Overall, I count 66 Gacha images, not counting Idolmaster, (2 Arknights, 7 Blue Archive, 7 Genshin, 3 NIKKE, 3 Heaven Burns Red, 9 Star Rail, 3 KanColle, 1 Limbus Company, 6 Project Sekai, 2 Reverse: 1999, and 23 Zenless Zone Zero) which also is about 16%. If we count TCGs due to similar rarity mechanics as well, Yu-Gi-Oh! (2) and WiXoss (1) make this satisfyingly match the VTubers at also 69 images, nice.
So about a sixth of each batch is dedicated to talking heads and another sixth to gambling.
I'm tempted to also make a pairing breakdown but oh well people are already going to complain about the length of this comment, aren't they?

^To honest I wish more original are uploaded here and other media than vtuber and gacha games.
Also what a dedication to do this, thank you for your work.

The website could do with having a more dedicated image section with daily uploads. So that way those of us that love the Gacha and Vtuber uploads can keep getting that art, while the people that hate Gacha and Vtubers can get more of what they enjoy. That way everyone is happy and we get the best of all worlds.

I doubt daily uploads could help. If anything, it'd open to floodgates to the constant stream of popular stuff pressurized by legions of fans. Also remember every suggestion is actually manually sighted by ununionized puny mortals - and they do an almost impeccable job for that, figuring out the romanization of random artists and whatnot. I rather propose limiting (over)saturated pairings to once a week; with all due respect, 9 Miorine x Suletta pics over four consecutive batches, six of which are from the same NSFW post, seems excessive.
Also check out the yuri tag on pixiv unfiltered. Without all the 3D renders, comics in need of scanlation, male-gazey porn and weighted distribution matrix products you're left at spreads not unlike local ones.
Meanwhilst, be the change you want to find on the ground and request niche stuff. Imho the April selection was the best I can recall. I even partly stopped requesting knowing it's in good hands.

As someone who loves SulMio I'm not unhappy about the amount of uploads, so to each their own. In general I've been happy with the uploads, and maybe my initial suggestion doesn't work the best but I still think there's a solution outside of reducing the things people like my self enjoy, while also adding more of what people such as yourself enjoy.

On top of that, Wriggle looks adorable.
I like this.
