I've never even considered watching Genshiken. Should I?

Depends on whether you like shows like Seinfeld. The series is basically a slice-of-life comedic drama about college otaku without any real plot arcs or major conflicts. What makes it really different from other series, though, is how it doesn't stick to standard anime/manga tropes and instead tries to go for more "realistic" characters and events.

Eh, I like him. He's a bit generic, but he's a nice guy without being a bumbling idiot.
