Noteworthy that the Spartans, as the overhyped hyper-militaristic imperialists unable to invade their own front lawn that they are, got their arses kicked not just by gay men, but also by the women of Argos[1↗] and Etruscean crossdressers[2↗], as per Plutarch's De Mulierum Virtutibus.
