^ Tons of mangaka seem to be real bad at keeping bodies, especially limbs, in proportion or correct for perspective - I'd assume they are ones who never had formal art lessons on drawing people.

The only thng wrong with that arm is that it looks a little too muscular. The perspective is fine otherwise. And we shouldn't assume anything. As the old saying goes: it only makes an ASS out of U and ME. xD

Muscular (thicker) is the least issue- its much too long - especially the upper arm - just compare how low the elbow is to her left elbow - if she straightened it it would be at her belt level - way lower than the other.
Also - there are plenty of self taught artists who can draw figures amazingly well and accurate I'm sure - but the opposite isn't gonna be true very often is it? If you HAVE had formal art training, (beyond compulsory high school level) which would include learning how to draw figures - its a safe bet you wont make simple proportion mistakes.

its actually not the right arm that is too long, but the left arm that is too short. proportionally the elbow should rest at the hip.

I'll be honest I'm more concerned with how her right arm connects to her shoulder. Her humerus is tilted forward while her scapula is tilted back, there seems to be no connection point.

My initial search was quite... ahem awesome. Now I did the actual search and is this basically a naval version of Girls Und Panzer?

@Nezchan I think its because of the way her arm would be pushing against the locker door. its pretty cramped in those things.

@RR: yes and no. They are ships, not school girls and the anime has been a bit underwhelming so far. Arpeggio has better naval warfare. In terms of quality, it's more like Sky Girls and no Strike Witches.

Whoa proportion? honestly there is nothing wrong with it, it looks just fine. Anyway there is some artist who deliberately think and make less effort with proportions, so it's not because they can't make right proportion but they care more about the whole picture.
hmm anyone ever read this artis doujin? it's nsfw kaga x mutsu my reaction just..wow!
so I tried to pose on mirror like on picture LOL, and actually proportion is pretty spot on. Right upper arm looks longer because right shoulder actually tilted down and forward that's also why the upper arm seems disjoint with shoulder because what you assume right shoulder is actually just clothes.

I just read a doujin of these two on a different site, then looked them up which lead me back here, so I'm here to declare my love for them. Best boat girls I may not need to see the rest.
