2021 should be the time W received a playable operator (at least in global)? I believe that boosted her popularity (and thus that of her ships) enormously.
Besides that, I think there has been shipping material since day one. They do have plenty of canon interactions going way back, and who doesn't enjoy some "Paragon of leadership" x "Untameable ball of chaos" Cockroach/Donkey-shipping?

And I should say for Juanelric along with anyone not very familiar with the game, W isn't actually a cockroach and it's more of a meme descriptor in the community, as W is actually a demon type that's part of the Sarkaz race, same deal with Amiya and the meme descriptor but she's a bunny girl.

^Yeah someone once mistook her for a donkey because of her ears, if I remember correctly. Which I don't think that even makes sense since donkey ears look pretty different, and I wonder if we ever get a real donkey operator that the difference will be more obvious to people in the community. Also note that plenty of fan arts between the two play on the fact that Amiya inherited a lot from Theresa,and W could be said to the most die hard blood seeking supporter of the King Of Sarkaz.
The current event is basically going to finally show us how that happened.
