I like that the artist remembers that Miorine is a messy slob who leaves her garbage everywhere, that's a canon quirk of hers that I don't see a lot in fanart.

To me the dead look to Miorine's eyes here look less like 'missing the wife because I'm away on business' and more 'missing the wife because she died young'. Especially with the smoking. I feel like if Suletta were still around, she'd have gotten Mio to quit.

The way I look at it Mio might smoke while away on business, but maybe she doesn't smoke at home. Mio is involved in a lot of intense political matters, and that's always really stressful. Luckily though she still has Suletta to return home to, and Mio can look forward to the loving embrace of her incredible wife.
