^^18? I’m pretty sure she’s only supposed to be a couple years older. At worst, she’s a rising senior, so 16 or 17, and I don’t even think she’s supposed to be that old. Don’t know where you got 18 from. Granted, I didn’t really see the ship, but it wouldn’t be that bad.

GRS also captioned this saying it's the 3rd movie. Which leaves a lot of room up for how the viewer can view the scenario. After all you could simply head canon it as a 3rd movie where even if there is a 5 year gap one of them could be 20, and the other 25, which would be pretty normal at that point I think.

People on Twitter are calling GRS names and even telling her to k*ll herself because of this comic (she had no idea about the age gap because she didn't watch the movie yet). Are there any official confirmation in the movie or wiki that Val is 18? All I found was a deleted tweet from someone who claimed to work at Pixar. Besides that, there's nothing.
^^And yeah she said this is an aged up version of Riley because she titled the comic "Inside Out 3 Leaked Plot"

^Oh yeah people were also attacking a Chinese artist in similar fashion for drawing the ship as well. People really need to remember or be taught to block/mute artists that they dislike the content of. Verbally abusing someone for drawing something with fictional characters isn't the moral high ground people think it is. Especially when there's so many horrible things constantly happening in the real world, and real people that need help, people to fight for them.

Twitter people think that you're a predator if you're 18 and dating someone who is 17 (because you met each other while still in highschool) and also think that teenagers are incapable of feeling sexual desire despite that being the phase in life where most people develop sexually, so I wouldn't listen to them.

GRS deleted the comic and wrote:
"Took the last comic down. It featured characters from Inside Out 2 (a movie I haven't watched yet) who happen to have an age gap that I wasn't aware of, and it wasn't right of me to draw them kissing, even if the characters were aged up in the comic. Won't happen again, sorry"
Twitter mobs are actually rabid and insane. There are actual artists drawing porn of actual underage characters right now, but instead of going after them, they decide to attack an artist who had no idea the ship has a 5 year gap. Excluding the fact that there's NO OFFICIAL SOURCE for Val's age, just a deleted tweet from a random account with 30 followers. Nowhere In the movie is said she's 18. If you Google "Inside Out Val age" right now you'll find nothing that confirms her age, EXCEPT a Twitter and Reddit thread claiming she's 18 without proof. So yeah, these people are harassing artists, calling them pedos, without any actual proof.

^I don't think the art is bad either way, but it really doesn't make sense to me that GRS feels bad even with the characters being aged up. A LOT of real life relationships have some various form of age gap when you're 20+, 3-5 years is extremely normal and common at that point.
I also always worry about people getting this idea in their head that they can bully artists into deleting art. Even with GRS in theory making this choice out of free will and no longer wanting to associate with the art, it being deleted makes the harassers feel empowered.

it being deleted makes the harassers feel empowered.
Exactly this, they don't really care about the cause they claim to be defending because if they did they would go after the kind of person Zokoi mentioned, because then those are everywhere — middle-aged individuals going after freshly out of highschool adults that don't know better and are prone to becoming financially and emotionally dependent if the relationship goes too far. It's like they're making up for all the bullying they couldn't do in their school years.
If you want to keep earning money there sadly you have to bend over to the will of those people, it's hard to recover once you become an outcast. This type of thing literally ends livelihoods and they LOVE to go after people who are the most vulnerable.
(See: Wolfertinger666 who drew an anthro vaporeon and got accused of zoophilia the moment he posted on twitter lol).
Adult is short? Pedophilia. Furry? Zoophilia. Sex at all? Degeneracy.
I just hope that this doesn't impact her negatively for too long, once the stalking starts it feels like it never ends. I hate saying this type of thing but they need to go outside and interact with people that aren't on social media all the time, it's not healthy to be like this. If they can't go outside like me, then stop using it for a while, it genuinely destroys your brain and puts you on edge.

^^ She said multiple times on Reddit that she's been dealing with depression (she said s*icidal depression, and it tracks because she rarely interacts with people nowadays, even her followers), so I think she deleted and cleared things up so the angry mob calling her a pedo and saying she should k*ll herself, leave her alone.

@girlswhokiss Yeah the whole stalker mob on social media is a mess, especially as they actively have decided to take issue with art in such extreme ways. They often look for non issue matters to bully people over, instead of actually putting effort into anything important or trying to help with actual problems, help real people. Rather than doing anything actually helpful or good they put so much effort into making real people feel awful for drawing art.
@Bielle That makes sense, I should say I don't mean to make GRS feel bad. I'm focused on saying that there's nothing wrong with aging up characters despite whatever Twitter thinks, and GRS has nothing to feel bad about for making this art. The art was fine, aging up the characters was fine. I hope they leave GRS alone, I just worry with how social media really has an awful mentality in the way of "give an inch and they take a mile" when it comes to bullies.

Heck, one of the reasons Twitter/X is the way that it is is because a bunch of people left Tumblr after it started going under (you know, that lovely site where an organized campaign of harassment drove an artist into attempting suicide, all because she drew fan art portraying a fat character as skinny), and brought the toxicity from that site with them to other sites, with Twitter being impacted the hardest. They’re like viruses, once they reach a critical mass, they’re just hang around until their host is destroyed, and then find a new host. Best thing to do is ignore that site entirely and let the Twitter mobs there cannabalize themselves. Either that, or shut down any form of social media for a few weeks so that they’re forced to go outside and interact with people.
