Can I get context for why the girl in the Archie Comic said that someone "topped" her. My best guess is that she was referring to ice cream or something, lol.
^^ It’s older slang for beating or outperforming someone. Like, if you run a 9 minute mile, and someone else runs an 8 minute mile, then they “topped” you. I think the term is still used on occasion, but it’s fallen out of favor ever since its more sexual usage became more widespread.
