Now that the dub is starting I have finally caved and started watching my first Gundam show. It's a bit of a daunting franchise to get into with like 20+ shows...
But holy hell, that prologue was something else. If the rest is even half as great as that, I'm in for such an experience.

@Zormau the tone in the first 11 episodes is a totally different show from the prologue. Far more Utena and less Gundam. The 12th episode has completely reverted the tone right back to the prologue though

A lot of the shows are their own, stand alone, things, so you don't need to worry too much about the franchise's long history.
