idk about yall but i definitely cried when cloud retainer quoted madame ping about guizhong's passing

Wait, wait, Madame Ping and Guizhong were hinted to be a thing, weren’t ppl saying before that Zhongli’s lore it was hinted to have the two of them (Guizhong I mean) be a thing or a unrequited love kind of thing? Can someone fill me in?

^That's why people got mad. But it only says Zhongli and Guizhong where friends with the new event casting Guizhong and madam ping in a hinted romantic light it's breaking peoples headcannon and some people are saying the ping and her are just friends and other saying Zhongli is just a friend but if we take out people reading to much in to the lore of their names being just mentioned together the games has shown the Guizhongxping ship being more cannon where as pimg is still hurt over her death and only takes the form of an old lady because of her death and zhongli has moved passed it a long time ago

Cloud Retainer's explanation indicates that Guizhong was adored by everyone. From Cloud Retainer's perspective, the one closest to Guizhong was Ping. Other perspectives may have recorded it differently: with Zhongli and Guizhong being the two gods of the group it's easy for lore to focus on them without speaking much of any others, and thus a strong connection between them could be seen as romantic due to lack of context.
Or perhaps there are details Cloud Retainer didn't see. We may never know. What's certain is that Guizhong's death continues to affect the adepti deeply, but Ping perhaps most of all.

During the cutscene I was "well, this is sad, but not THAT sad" and then that quote came and I felt something inside me breaking into pieces... Poor Madam Ping, I'm not sure about Guizhong feelings for her, for I'm sure Ping loved her the most-

well , i see it as Ping and Guizong beeing Lovers and Zongli as a spectator that he is usualy and him beeing sadened like he usualy gets sad about old friend's passings wich is actually sadder if you ask me , but not sadder than Ping missing Guizong ;-;
