The idea of the OVA is so wierd to me. So ppl actually go to a theater to see a 20 min OVA? (Not tht I'm against the idea)

The OVA is over 1 hour and 30 minutes. Not 20 minutes :)
It's a feature length film.

Hm, I thought "OVA" are usually not shown in theaters or TV, and go straight to disc, and if it's shown in theaters, it's a "Movie". Was I wrong?

I think they just title anything that's not an episode of a series as an 'OVA' to be honest, lol.
Strike Witches movie and Madoka/Nanoha movies would also be classed OVA's, or specials.

Well, I know and that's kinda my point - why would something released in movie theaters first still be OVA? I'm guessing in this case showing in theaters is more about promotion for video...
