First of all, I like this ship. It hits all the right places for some reason (to give you some background, I'm at 29 AR and just about to meet Shenhe; that said, I don't even know in which quest is Yelan involved).
Still, I have a question. How did this ship come to be? I mean, is there some interaction between the two that I have to wait for till I get higher AR, or did the fandom just decide the two of them look good together?
Any answer is appreciated and sorry for this dumb(?) question.

I think this ship happened, at first, because they have similarities or connection to other popular ship (xingqiu and chongyun). Shenhe is chongyun's aunt, yelan has asymmetrical bangs like xingqiu, and they both have same elements with xingqiu and chongyun. Maybe they were expected to have same dynamics(?). But then even though they have zero interaction until now, the fandom still decided they look good together XD
