Ano is often paired with Nena. I haven't played the game yet, and would not want any spoilers. But do let me know if Nena and Ano ever got a story with one another; because I'm pretty sure I saw it somewhere... but my memories and wishful thoughts gets intermingled you know?

^It's a matter of pairing the spares. I believe there was some content in the voice drama CDs that encouraged the pairing a little at least. Personally I simply always found Yuna more compatible with Ano and the game most definitely made it look like it could have been an option, but it wasn't. That is my only gripe with her role.

@Nari: Nena and Ano has interactions in the voice drama like @Licentious Lantern said. The reason they're shipped together is because (minor spoiler here) they're two people left in the game to not be in a relationship with anyone else. And since it's a yuri world, no girls shall be left alone without another girl -> Nena and Ano became a thing.
Personally I think Nena should have been alone, she kinda seems asexual to me.
Also I agree with you @Licentious Lantern. I was really sad to know that I couldn't choose to pair Yuna with Ano.

What saddens me is how little attention Ano gets throughout the game. She's the first friend of Yuna's that we meet, and you'd expect her to play a bigger role, but she's only in a small handful of scenes. She's an underutilized character, and it's a real shame because she's actually very interesting.
While I'm completely supportive of the Hina x Yuna ship, I do agree that it would have been nice to have the option for an Ano route as well.

I wasn't all that interested in Ano for most of my first playthrough, but I warmed up to her after I learned that she could see(but not hear) the kindred spirits late in the game, and played some of her POV scenes. I still prefer the Yuna/Hina ship, and while a Yuna/Ano ending might be nice, I'm not sure how they could incorporate it given the Daily Planner system lets you jump around between scenes.

^if memory serves (though it's been a few years) it's basically an elaborate kinetic novel at core; your only actual choices are in regards to the particular order you view the vignettes.

Seems like a few folks would be down for that too ;P
I remember playing this VN and I think somewhere after realizing what the ending will be, and the fact it's a kinetic novel essentially, I was super disappointed.
The story's very likeable, but it's clear that two-route approach would enrich the game a lot.
Oh, and this art's nice too :D

In all seriousness though, I like all the pairings. Ano and Yuna have obvious chemistry that doesn't really need to be explained. Ano and Nena are friends outside of their relations to their other friend groups, and obviously you can't be friends in a yuri story without becoming girlfriends at some point. That's the rules.
I kinda like the idea of an aromantic Nena though. She has no time for girls! There's very important sleeping to be done! :P
That said, Miki x Seina is the ship I truly love. Sweet soft gf x smol stronk gf is too good. And Seina has that one scene that everyone loves of course.
