We all know she's supposed to be a rabbit, but we call her a donkey anyway because she doesn't look like a rabbit. And donkey girls are more interesting.

^Except she doesn't look like a donkey, because a donkey's ears are very full at the base, they're also fluffier and rounder. There's all kinds of rabbits with big ears. It's just for some reason people mistake her ears for donkey ears, and won't let the meme go. Also to each their own but I'll always prefer bunny girls, and Amiya is a great reason why I love bunny girls.

Note that it has yet to be confirmed if Amiya is only a rabbit,since she's also been called a chimera.
As for the donkey ear part,it's also likely because of things like Donkey from Winnie The Pooh,where the ears are made very long with a much more narrow base.
