There should be a 'teasing Edelgard' stat in the game that ties into the RPG mechanics. Do it right, and you get nookie. Do it wrong, and you get the guillotine. It'd make for a very exciting relationship.

Ok so I checked and her hair goes back to dark at the end of the last battle. I remembered it wrong - its been a few years! So this must be between the confession since she is calling her 'El', and the last fight I guess?

I'd have to check supports again to confirm but I'm pretty sure the El name is either her B support or a few chapters into CF.
The S support takes place sometime after the Rhea fight in which the hair goes back to normal, if that's what you're thinking.
TL;DR: it's a soft AU or the girls be flirting when the Switch is in sleep mode.
