By the way, the commentary for this is "マサジャンックス". The first part, マサジャン, is just MassaJean (aka their ship ship name) but does anyone know what the ックス is supposed to be?
Why do I find so much art of these two in particular, is there an interaction that I'm not aware of?
Not that I mind, these two look cute together.
They're more or less rivals in the game AFAIK but the real reason there's so much art of them is because this particular artist really loves this ship ship.

@GrimSmiles@Norainhere These two actually fought each other in WWII. It was in the course of Operation Torch when the Americans attacked French forces in North Africa loyal to the Vichy government. Massachusetts and Jean Bart exchanged fire with each other during the Allied attack on Casablanca. I can not remember if Jean Bart scored any hits, but Massachusetts did manage to hit the French ship a few times.

^ Bart only had one operational turret to begin with and got mere seven shots off before a shell from Massachusetts jammed its turning mechanism. It was repaired by the same evening but no further big-ship dueling occurred during the rest of the battle.

It's also worth mentioning that in-game, Mamie seems to have a healthy respect for Jean:
Secretary (Idle) 3: "People that impressed me? Umm... when I was in Casablanca, I fought a battleship who held out a long time even with just a single turret... I'd like to fight her again in her finished state."
Bonus Voice Line 1 (have Mamie and Jean fight the boss together): "The way you are now... I like it. This is good."
Secretary (Idle) 1 (Party skin): "Where's Jean Bart gone? I wanted to show her how I look."
