Alice was Yuuka's servant durant the PC-98 area so it's not so much of a crack pairing.

^you're thinking of Elly. Alice first appeared in Mystic Square as a hostile denizen of Makai of apparently some status - her background and noticeably different appearance in her later Windows-era incarnation are among those lore question marks ZUN likes to leave hanging for fans to wildly speculate over.

^ but isn't contradictory pc98 lore basically non-canon in windows era? Windows Alice has no ties to Makai so shes a different person.

^except she specifically mentions the previous encounters in PCB and Word of God is that's the third time she fights Marisa and Reimu - you did read that linked article right...? She's hardly the only PC-98 immigrant to appear in the Windows era either (Yuuka being notably another one).

Just to add a bit, in TH5 where good old (or more like Young) Alice appear in Extra stage, in which IF we won as Yuuka, Yuuka’s ending is Yuuka took Alice with her and train her magic.
