Even aside from it being part of the plot, literally in season 1 onward they share a bed and refer to each other as "my sunshine." Pretty gay even outside of the plot.

^^ I think in terms of directly portrayed blatant gayness, HibiMiku might actually beat NanoFate. But on the general level of overall gayness, it's probably a tie.
Though i suppose thanks to NanoFate's trailblazing, it opened the door for HibiMiku and Symphogear to be more openly blatantly gay.

^^ True; there's many anime that's got fan service, but like for a kickass anime like Symphogear and Lyrical Nanoha, which are well known, it's definitely got that super cute married couple feel rather than it building to some climax
