I've heard her side story with Karin makes her look less psychotic and more of a cool big sis. Especially during one of the Halloween events or so I heard anyway.

It has a bit more than that, one particular aspect of Alina's personal story, where she was in a depressive state and planning on committing suicide(which only failed because she contracted immediately before doing so, without knowing or caring what contracting meant, she just wanted Kyubey to go away), she asks Karin what her art means to her, and after getting her answer, she admits she admires Karin's attitude towards her art, and her conviction means that Karin may be even more of an artistic genius than herself, in context of her emotional state, it strikes a lot of people as Alina completely putting her guard down and being utterly sincere, as she expected to be the last thing she ever told Karin.
