I may not have played the game, but I’ve heard about all the routes and the romances. I find this pairing to be similar to that of Romeo and Juliet. It makes me wonder how things would’ve turned out if Byleth had chosen a fifth option.

I haven't gotten too far in the game, but I find it a bit hard to picture either being quite as stupid as Romeo or Juliet.

Romeo and Juliet don't really match to Byleth and Edelgard's relationship, but that's just my opinion

Yeah, I also feel like their relationship is kind of tragic. (except in the crimson flower path)

I mean, to be fair, the whole nature of the game is tragic. Until you recruit everyone you can in one playthrough and laugh at them talking about having to fight their "friends." Like, c'mon, it's like two friends, cause I won't even bother to consider Hubert anyone's friend.

They can if you get on the Crimson Flower route and pick Edelgard at the end.
