Bernadetta x Edelgard is a pretty underrated ship, and I love mare11248 for drawing so much of them.
Also, fun fact - Edelgard has the most same-sex A supports/endings in the game, even more than Byleth. The English version of her paired ending with Bernadetta is really harsh for some reason, especially compared to the Japanese text. There was a Twitter post comparing the two versions, but I haven't been able to find it.

^seems like most of the same sex pair ending were changed one way or the other during localization, usually toned down the romantic tone, and in the El/Bernie one turned more harsher (actually Edelgard was made more harshier overall, whereas in the original her opening up to her friends is a lot more sweeter)
all that aside, wonderful art, wonderful pairing of wonderful characters <3

^Yeah, it's very irritating. It's also probably the reason why Edelgard seems to be more divisive in the English-speaking fanbase compared to the Japanese one...

I long for a day when the NA localization of Fire Emblem games won’t fuck with the characters and plot for no good reason, and where they won’t have to hide queerness?? in an English translation of a Japanese game??? Like, our social progress around queer ppl is so much greater, why would they need to tone this shit down?

However you feel about Emperor Edgelord, I think it's pretty fair to say the scope of LGBT characters in the game is way too limited.

I mean. yeah? I agree, but that's a problem of the game that has nothing to do with El,
if you were to snap your fingers and suddenly take all her wiw ending and left her like Ingrid (shame on the developers on that one) that wouldn't change much, there would still be a small amount same sex endings.
only thing left to do, beyond fan content, is hope that future games keep increasing the amount, and that the localization stop screwing the ones that we do get,
As for the "why" El got the most wiw, who knows how the development process went, what we do have in the game tho is that El has very strong relationships with Bernie, Dorothea, Lys, Manuela, Coco and Byleth, which resulted in her having endings with them, as well as very much showing the sweet and wonderful person behind the emperor mask.
anyway yeah is a shame how few lgbt relationship are in the game but it still an improvement and hopefully they'll keep improving.
and since this is the comment section of a Bernie x Edelgard fan art I just feel like repeating that I very much love both characters (and yes El is very much an edgy dork and I love her for that)

(not a 100% relevant, but i’m pissed that hapi didn’t get supports w lysithea or edelgard bc a throwaway line in cindered shadows insinuates that she got caught up in the slitherers experiments as well)

I don't understand all the hate Edelgard gets. Did I miss something while playing through her route? Like yeah, in some routes sure, she's bad, but I don't think you can judge any of the house leaders based solely on one route.
edit: to be clear, I don't think she's a perfect angel. I just find it hard to believe anyone could play through her route and come away from it like, "wow she's a terrible person." And if someone hasn't done that route, then they really don't have the whole picture in regards to her. I mean, I did Blue Lions first, and had a similar impression of her, and that impression changed dramatically after I did my next playthrough, a Black Eagles run. Crimson Flowers, specifically
This is all assumIng people are referring to Edelgard's character, and not Edelgard, the character. I'd still disagree in that case, but that's at least a little more relevant to personal taste.
