^This picture is a reference a Chapter of volume 5, The 55 specifically. It's Shamiko's birthday and Momo doesn't know what to give her. While looking for a gift, she meets Lico. She suggests to her do the same as in this picture, but Momo rejects that idea. Partly because she thought Lico was making fun of her and partly because she was too embarrassed to do so

My favorite part is that Shamiko got so flustered she subconsciously activated Crisis Management form lol

Now we need some proper Machikado Mazoku doujins. A whole bunch of ShamiMomo, of course, as well as at least one each of MikanxMomo, MikanxYuko, and MomoxLillith. And at least one YukoxEverybody (Momo, Mikan, Lillith, Anri, Shion, Liko, Ryoko, Seiko, and a special appearance by Sakura).

Someone go pester any doujin artists you know to get on that. :P

I really wish this had happened in that chapter, Shamiko would have melted in her seat for sure. Goddamn it, Momo.

I prefer to only have doujins of legit pairings, thanks. You can't ask for "proper" doujins and then suggest crack. lol Though by how Lilith acts around Momo sometimes I wouldn't even be surprised if someone would draw them together...
Also you call Sion "Shion", but call Riko "Liko"... That's wrong by the fan names and even by the official names. I'm not reprimanding you by the way, I'm just impressed how you managed to find your completely own naming conventions somehow.

@BugDevil: Shion is Shion in the anime and in most places I've seen. Liko is Liko becuase someone whined the last time I called her Riko. I'm not going to get into the L vs R debate with you.

For me a proper doujin is one that is well-made, has decent art that resembles the characters reasonably well, treats whatever its pairing is with respect, and doesn't include any males. It is entirely possible to have proper doujins of crack ships. Speaking of which, aside from the Yuko x Everyone suggestion I made, I consider all of those pairings to be ships that have at least some foundation within the series. Mikan and Yuko have already gone on things that could be viewed as dates with each other, there have been plenty of indications that Mikan could have a crush on Momo, and the Momo/Lillith dynamic is just ripe for all sorts of stuff.

There is no whining, it's literraly how the author write the name. You've probably already check the raws but even there it's write Lico not Riko. Go on a debate all you want but if the author write Lico then it's Lico. There is no debate to have.

Well, I like how Lico sounds-

Eivhbyw
BugDevil Nov 20, 2019 4:15AM

@Random Wanderer
She is called Sion everywhere. The anime subs, the manga translation and even in the official material, same place where people got Lico from. I just pointed out that it's officially "Lico" with a C not a K. I obviously still won't call her that, because I'm not stupid and can see that it was a mistake on Ito's part. Doesn't matter how it sounds, it's straight up not a name, while Riko and Rico both are. So common sense tells us it was just the usual L/R mix-up. lol

"Doesn't include any males" "It's possible to have proper doujins of crack ships" Your criteria are arbitrary and ridiculous then. You just call proper whatever you prefer. There is no arguing with someone who can't be objective. None of the pairings you mentioned has any real foundation in the manga. Not even Momo x Lilith.

^Japanese has no "si" sound, so writing it as "shi" is just as correct. Same as how the Japanese "r" is closer to the English "l" than "r" so writing ri as li is ok. It just depends on how you decide to romanize it. So Lico is as much a name as Riko and Sion is just as incorrect as Shion.

If people can go pretend Lico is fine, then Sion is correct too. (Aside from the fact that a good deal of anime characters are called Sion). I looked up Chinese names and Riko/Rico are actual Chinese names, while Lico is not. It is so blatantly obvious what Ito was going for that this is just sad.

@Maximus66 Im gonna assume thats just bad English, because under it it says RIKO in katakana- and I will guess they know Japanese better than English. Same deal with Shion. And the fact those are names i've seen before but not lico and sion.

@Lillywyt you cant really argue its Lico just because thats what it says, when it also says RIKO literally 1cm away from it in Japanese. It says BOTH- so imo you could fairly argue either are ok.

^That's just a matter of how you romanize it. It says Lico and リコ. How you decide to romanize リコ is up to you (although "Riko" would be correct according to official romaji like Hepburn or Nihon-shiki). Writing リ as "li" is fine because the actual sound is /ɾ/ which is sort of like a cross between the English "r" and "l" sounds (it actually occurs in some English dialects like Standard North American pronunciation of the word "better" where it's actually a "t" sound so romanizing the name as "tiko" or "diko" could also work).
I personally tend to stick to the Hepburn romaji as well as the IPA, but if you're not writing in kana or kanji you can just go with whatever. Not like it the first time that something like this has happened.

While S and Sh are both correct, Sion is likely translated as Sion due to oGUura SION, kind of like SATA aNri.
