I'm curious how an Avatar series would even work once smart phones got involved. Would being the avatar have any effect with modern society & technologies?

^^Ya know they already have phones and mechs in Legend of Korra, right? It's not much of a change. Tech developes rapidly.

@EmergentLurker They already had wireless and old style phones (with switch banks etc) and cars / planes etc - I dont think much would change avatar influence wise, if she was still running around protecting & helping the world.
