I'm confused. What happened to make this ship happen? I was wondering all this time they ship KotoUmi. Is it because of the 12th episode or the 13th episode where they were together?

@Yurichan300 I personally started shipping it because they felt like Honoka's mothers during the series. Thanks to that it felt weird to think about either of them together with Honoka and they didn't really have much else going on with other characters (Umi sort of had Eli in season 1, but NozoEli felt unbreakable to me from the moment I first saw them).

Umi's rather strong reaction to Kotori's "Onagai?" would seem to confirm Umi feels that way, but Kotori seems to only have eyes for Honoka based on her later actions.

If by "her later actions" you're referring to episodes 12 and 13, then my bit about seeing her and Umi as Honoka's mothers still holds up. She knew she had to go because the opportunity that she got was huge, but she didn't want to leave her "child" behind. I have 0 doubts about the fact that both Kotori and Umi love Honoka (and vice versa), but I don't see it as romantic and when I do try to imagine as romantic it just feels wrong.
