Honestly, it was a pretty niche show. Aside from yuri fans I can see why it didn't have much mainstream or wide spread appeal, and even then it was on the slower side of the spectrum. It would be disappointing if there wasn't a follow-up, but it wouldn't be unexpected.

shouldn't the Dragon Girl be the one who's on Top?
its so weird seeing the Innocent girl being the lead and the dragon girl succumbing into pleasure or submission lol
Even in the Anime they made Grea become so Docile? im still annoyed that we never got to see her full dragon form or even her Dragon Arms like if her princess did get capture id love to see Grea lose control and go berserk that would been so epic stupid OVA's run for like 4mins per episode.. but the animation is stunning

^Grea is a shy girl. There is no need to force her to become a top. Manaria Friends didn't want to focus on action or power ups and fighting. It was purely made for the slice-of-life between Anne and Grea and I highly appreciate it for that. In the games you only ever see them after everything went bad. They always talk about the academy days, but you never truly understand what was lost and what they yearn for if you don't see what it was actually like. That's what the anime was for.
PS: Anne is way, waaay stronger than Grea (thanks to her magic), so she rarely ever needs rescue.

Not true. If Grea goes all out, she's stronger. Besides, her full power has anti-magic attribute, so in an hypothetical fight between the two. Grea would have the advantage.

^I didn't mean physically. Let's leave the game mechanics aside and just go by lore. Grea fought shadow monsters to protect the academy for a long time and eventually succumbed, but Anne cleared them out with ease. Her magic is simply ludicrous and her summons are all legendary heroes.
Even with her true dragon powers awakened, Grea is no match for a real ancient dragon. Anne is viewed as the greatest magic prodigy in the entire kingdom and she isn't even nearly at her full potential yet.
I'd say if Grea was really quick and got the drop on Anne she could probably end it before the fight can really start, but in a fair duel, Anne has the upper hand.
