Interestingly, I was thinking about this anime just a few days ago.

@juanelric iirc, those aren't ribbons, but they are supposed to be shide, from an onusa (those wooden things miko/priests wave at stuff to purify whatever it is). Basically she's made her wooden sword into a pseudo-holy item.
