Honestly, going out of your way to take the touhous out of a cool place like gensokyo and drop them into boring old highschool almost offends me.

^I mostly agree- part of touhou's appeal is the great setting. But when you've read thousands of manga set with these characters there, its nice to see them in a different setting sometimes.

^^ I'm not sure it really matters if they're in Gensokyo or not in this particular scene, so if it's just an excuse to get them out of their ZUN outfits for a couple panels, I'm fine with it.

I've got a compromise:
Keine talks with Sanae about school in the outside world and wants to try being a high school teacher. Keine uses her hakutaku powers to alter history, forcibly enrolling all her friends into her new high school. However, she gets a ton of stuff wrong about what outside world high schools are like since she only knows about what she heard from Sanae, and then guesses what the rest is like but with the mindset of someone who only really understands Gensokyo's world and way of life.
Hilarity ensues.
edit: I really want to read this fanfic now. Someone hop to it!
