Why are there so many yuri art of this show? Is it like really obvious subtext or something because I know it's not a yuri show otherwise I would've seen it by now

I mean, like 50% of the content on this website is Love Live doujins/pics. It shouldn't surprise you to see a non yuri series getting a lot of yuri fanart.

You know, for a long time, practically all fanfiction/fanart in the net was about shipping characters who were never romantically involved in the original work. Why was that? Because people saw sexual chemistry in their interactions and liked to imagine them together, so they did. It's that simple.

Because they have really good chemistry and anytime you have single-gender groups, you're going to have lots of queer shipping.

They shared a character arc that ends with one of them reaching out her hand to pull the other one up. I would be amazed if people didn’t ship them. They just have really nice chemistry.
