^ Considering how old this particular fanart is, I wouldn't be surprised if the artist was inspired in some way by Evangelion.

How gay is Noir?

How gay is Noir?
The sort of gay that inspires lots of fan theories pointing to specific instances in which the subtext got awfully text-y. (Unfortunately I think a lot of these were lost to the winds of cyberspace.) It's not teasing a la your standard CGDCT show nowadays, and it's definitely more about emotional connection than sexual tension, but there's still a lot of material there, I think. There's at least one on-screen kiss that does not involve the main leads, and a good deal of homo-eroticism in general. By the end of the series they definitely love each other, but whether this is romantic or sexual love is - intentionally, as I recall - left up to interpretation.
That said, it's the show that got me into gay stuffs in general, but hardly one I'd recommend if you're strictly looking for gay content. Not exactly sure why I feel that way tho

FYI, the character artist for Noir was also the character artist for NGE. Just thought I'd throw that out there for ya.

^Called it! I don't wanna say my eyes are perfect or anything, but they are pretty damn good. And for my next trick I will predict that Dragon Quest's art is drawn by Akira Toriyama...

It involves one of them, doesn't it? Noir is still one of my favorite yuri anime from Bee Train, despite the notorious ambiguity of gay relationships in their shows. Along with .hack//Sign (canonized in a novel or manga continuation), El Cazador de la Bruja (where it may be closest to text), Madlax (on the back seat), and Avenger (where the plot is against having a lesbian relationship exclusively). I can't remember whether Murder Princess or others are worth mentioning.

Funny, I was searching my head for an answer to that very question whilst looking up fanarts, didn't quite click tho. Thanks for sharing.

Well, technically each of the leads gets their own separate kiss. I was trying to be intentionally vague with my wording, but yeah, you're correct. I admit, both Madlax and .hack//Sign were a bit too weird(?) for me at the time I watched, but I'm a big fan of their work nonetheless! Noir and El Cazador are both great.

This artstyle reminds me of NGE for some reason.
