And that's how white is born

BugDevil Mar 14, 2019 3:21AM

^Common mistake, green is not a primary color. Yellow is.

^ They are not wrong actually, the primary colors of light are green, red and blue, and the primary colors for pigments are cyan, magenta and yellow. I learned the primary colors of light in a physics class and after that on a biology class when I was a kid, we where talking about how the eyes of various Animals (including humans of course) see color and I never forgot lmao.

^Aw shucks, I mixed up white and black. If you combine the three primary pigment colors you get black, not white. So of course they were talking about light.

Now I understand why Green has 6 bits in 565 for 16 bit RGB mode. Clever.

^^^ I learned so at audiovisual communication class. Art and science are not so different...

If I mix green with blue and red I get brown... Where is the black?

BugDevil Mar 16, 2019 1:14PM

Pigments: Blue, Red, Yellow = Black
Light: Blue, Green, Red = White
