It's fine since I can finally know what they are saying, but perhaps you could have filled in the white with the blue color of the background.

The white spots were put in by the original artist, I just decided to leave them there. Keeping as much of the original stuff as possible, right? Although if it would look better, I guess I could've filled them in.

Nah I think it's best this way. The very slightly diagonal bubbles must be kind of a pain though, huh? I assume the original was handwritten too. And uh, it being written in a completely different direction than it would be in english makes it a bit harder too I guess...
edit: what the heck is paisen though?
edit2: looked it up, I guess it's a more familiar/closer version of senpai.
