I came across this series while looking for something a few weeks ago. Now, I’m seeing it everywhere. I also saw a rap battle between these two. It wasn’t half bad.

It's one of those series that just seem like a wacky idea, but turns out to be really good once you watch it. There's a lot of feels.

i haven’t watched it yet but i’ve heard ample things abt one of the characters being trans.. was it one of these two?

No, it's not one of them. The trans thing isn't a big deal in the series, only really discussed in one scene where everyone agrees that meh, it's cool, and then it's not brought up again and they treat that girl the same as before they found out. Which is probably the best way to handle a trans idol.
Also one of the zombies has the VA of Sailor Moon and only speaks in grunts and moans, and she's best girl.

This series is unique and amazing, if you haven’t already seen the show, I highly recommend it. It’s so damn good that I’m watching both the sub and dub. Sakura x Saki is a great ship, especially because Saki often threatens to kill Sakura.
Also, the trans character is named Lily. It’s only covered in one episode. At first everyone’s like “wah?,” but quickly get over it and accept Lily as a girl, which is great

Yeah more SakuSaki! when i thought that the rap ep is amazing itself then the saki episode really topped my list of fav ep. Can't wait for a certain legendary zombie idol to be awaken(said seiyuu also a certain legendary idol's mama whose family name is Yazawa)

For some reason I see Saki as really bad at flirting.
This would be an example of a failed flirt attempt. It failed in the sense that Sakura stole the lead from her.

I'll say this, this series has moments that are really dumb, and among the most illogical moments ever at times, but God dammit, if it wasn't the most fun I've had with an anime all year, and dammit, if I didn't like the characters so much. Well worth watching.
