1) I have always been wondering if there were any series longer then Touhou Projeckt?
2) How did Touhou Projeckt start in the first place?, I´m wondering because it seems I can´t find the red string that binds it all together (with so many diffrent kinds of chapters and drawing style, and story lines).

Well Touhou on the reader isn't really a series, it's a large number of doujins all based on the same source material, rather than one connected series.

And as for how it got started, Touhou Project is a series of japanese Bullet Hell Shooters for the PC. They became hugely popular due to the awesome music, hard as fuck gameplay and the fact that every character is a girl, and it just keeps growing in popularity.

Fun fact: There is now more Touhou on Pixiv than there is porn.
