This chapter is strange in being bittersweet knowing they will break up, but also gives hope for their future knowing how happy they were once.

You guys are so nice. But I read these arguments, and hear the equivalent of saying, “Igarashi is a good person who made the mistake of torturing a puppy with a blowtorch and a chainsaw, and now she’s sorry.”

With me it’s visceral: “Needlessly cruel to Chidori” = one strike and you’re out.

I don't think anyone is calling Igarashi a good person. At most understanding towards her behaviour, but understanding =/= acceptance.

As I think I posted earlier, I feel like she lost any chance she might have had with Chidori when she told her their feelings meant nothing because they were both girls. No coming back from that.

No one really deserves a second chance after that tbh.

Also, Nanoha really redeemed herself here. She cut Chidori off when she was trying to explain, because she was afraid of what the truth might be. I was worried that she wouldn't show up and then the whole series would be taken over by this mess, but no, the chapter after the problem appears it is resolved. Always nice when the author doesn't milk a cliche for all it's worth.

I wouldn't say Nanoha cut Chidori off in the earlier chapter. She did lie that she wasn't bothered by it, but Chidori didn't really push to explain either. Both are understandable to be fair, I think at this point they've only been dating a couple months so it's not exactly an established relationship.

However Chidori really needs to nip this in the bud now and talk to Nanoha about everything that happened with Igarashi, ball is firmly in her court.

^ I agree with a lot of your interpretations Heavensrun, and if it wasn't for how harshly she rejected Chidori when she confronted Igarashi about the boyfriend she could even be a quite sympathetic character. However that was the point where I think she lost any chance for a future with Chidori.

It’s weird. I’m 46 chapters into this story and I feel like I don’t even know it yet. Every time I read a new chapter, I have to remind myself who the characters are and what the story is. Nothing about it is really memorable to me. And yet I keep reading it.

Well tbh apart from the flashback chapters the first 32 chapters were more or less just cute fluffy yuri with no real plot. It seems that only in the past 15 chapters or so the story has actually began to develop.

It would be easier to sympathize with Igarashi if she hadn't told Chidori that she loved her, she clearly was aware of her feelings. However just decided to mess with Chidori.

Karma is a bitch, so I feel like even if she broke her own heart by denying her own feelings she got what was coming to her. Now just hope she moves on.

Hum... why do you people want heavy drama when we can have it light and can be solved easily since the manga doesn't seem to be a drama thing to begin with.
When it's heavy ,people complain same goes for it when it's light. I don't get you people.

I guess it's because the author bothered to create drama with this arc, but the resolution was kind of half hearted, but I feel like that's people getting ahead of themselves declaring this drama resolved.

Yeah, this definitely isn't completely resolved yet. Chidori needs to talk to Nanoha about everything that happened between her and Igarashi in the first year, you don't want to leave stuff like this hanging.

I kinda liked this, not just waiting for the one you love to notice you, or shout out your feelings in anger, but work to make them see you in a different light.

Would love a happy end sequel though, can't lie :D

I loved the ending, and I wouldn't say the ending was rushed, or father's change of heart was random. How I interpreted it was that he didn't believe that Beniko could support her daughter, or keep her safe. However based on the convesation he overheard in the bookstore I guess he realized that if he forced Yuki to marry someone she didn't want, she might kill herself, at which point it doesn't really matter who she's with.

Also I guess him reading one of Beniko's books was the final part. I imagine that convinced him that Beniko was good enough of an author to provide for Yuki, and thus have a stable life. So when you consider it from his perspective, seeing his daughter in obvious pain, knowing that she would never be happy in a forced marriage, and that the one she loved could provide her with a comfortable life, it's not that big of a stretch to see him accept it.

Jesus fuck....this manga...

Going from My Pet to this I really didn't expect to be feeling physically ill after reading the ending. NTR gutpunch did it's job once again, and Joy has been firmly placed at the very top of most disgusting manga character I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

However upon mulling over the story after finishing it I kinda take solace in a couple realizations.

First is that Natsu definitely was the one that Joy truly loved, or at least loved more out of the two. This mainly comes back to how Joy set up the whole triangle scenario. Natsu was the one she spoke to first, and the one she decided to deceive. I take that to mean that she was the one she really didn't want to lose, she was willing to gamble on Hye Yeon turning down her arrangement, but not Natsu. This view is reinforced in my mind by the ending. So I take solace in the fact that Joy will have to live with the fact that her actions caused pain to the one she truely loved, and hopefully has to deal with that pain for a loooooooooooong time.

Second is that once Natsu leaves the school, having been really popular, rumors are probably going to spread around about why exactly she left, which will probably turn her fans on Joy, making her school life considerably less pleasant. Fitting karma all around.

In the end, I really wish I had not read this manga. I don't feel I was left with a good story in the end, all I feel is physically ill when I think about the whole thing.

No Hotaru, back slowly away from Kou, she's taken.

don't be surprised if there is romance though...authors seem to love doing that >.>; apparently if you're not blood related and you live with someone you HAVE to fall in love. now i will go on pretending the last few chapters of usagi drop never existed. STUPIDEST choice an author has ever made that i've ever read.

Ahh Usagi Drop, that manga really serves as a prime example of "how to ruin a wholesome manga in a very short amount of time".

However I feel like romance in this manga would be considerably more natural, I do hope it doesn't go that way though.

Personal preference would be some weird shit like Tsugumi faked her death and comes back and all three live together as a big happy family, but that's just me being a hopeful idiot since that would make very little sense in the story.

I don't think this is as hopeless as people make it out to be in here. They might be best friends now, but it's not as if the door was completely shut by a rejected confession or Koto starting to date someone else.

One route the manga could take from here is if we find out that Reina's mother is dead. It would explain her extreme reaction to just being comforted when afraid, and probably would produce a feeling that someone inexperienced could mistake for romantic love.

"I didn't mean it like that."

It's at that point I knew they started thinking something lewd about each other.

Considering the chapters before this, I'm pretty sure Yuika has been there for a while.

This artist tho, two pieces, other one distrubing one about domestic abuse, and this one is cute af.

I think this is good, Kino was too stuck on "being a fan" and has to now think of Yori from another point of view. It might be awkward for a bit, but I think she'll get there.

At this point I'm kinda not shipping anyone. My hope is that Kou and Amane remain friends and reveal whatever twisted game Nene and Senpai are playing and ditch their asses.

Is this on hiatus, now? The updates used to be pretty regular.

Based on artists twitter the next release seems to be on 28th of June. After which the series will resume a monthly release schedule. Tweets are in Japanese tho so I might have missed something.

A new challenger appears?

I hope little bro can find himself a nice boyfriend by the end of the series.

Indeed

There are already two candidates. Maybe you don't remember them, because their only appearance came in the beginning of chapter 1... but it's transparently obvious that they are both crazy for Futaba. And who wouldn't, right? He's so cute, honest and girly. (灬 ͡♥ 3 ͡♥灬)

The first one is a sporty boy, strong, mischievous, energetic and a total tsundere:

The second one is smart, polite, adult-like for his age, and a typical "nice boy" all around:

Were you in Futaba's shoes, who would you choose? ・:*:・゚( ͡ºั ͜ʖ ͡ºั )。・:*:・゚

Out of those two I feel like Sui is the stronger candidate, though I'm not quite certain Sui is a boy, has that gender ambiguous look.

It certainly can mean, and be read as, that. But it is under no obligation whatsoever to actually mean it at least in such straightforward sense.

It can only mean as that, theres literally no other reason why would the author implies that the brother knows her sister is a yuri with that title. Its a first person pov title where the protagonist himself describes the premise of the story which means it will never be false unless it was shown that the protagonist is a liar (or unless the author wanted to mess up with the readers and started making it as a het series or incest) and your other example, while it has a fp pov title, is about the protagonist's personality which could change depending on the development, both are not comparable.

Have you considered the fact that the title might reference a point of time ahead of the current point in the story.

Honestly it's pretty clear that up until this chapter the little brother didn't consider the two girls as potentially being romantically involved, but rather just wanted to help his sister make a friend.

joined Dec 18, 2018

Because he is a kid and doesn't know that they could like each other beyond friendship

Do people seriously thinks grade schoolers are that ignorant when it comes to romance?

Varies on a case to case basis I would assume. Personally I knew romance was a thing, but I had no concept of what "gay" was.
