The part people are upset about is the aforementioned Gender Bender work, Idol Pretender. Specifically, in the beginning the gender-bent main character was attracted to the girl she liked as a boy, and that girl liked her back too. It really did seem like it would be a genuine gender bender yuri manga. However, the last few chapters had her fall in love with a boy instead. People (including me) were pretty upset at the whole thing, especially considering the way that as she got "girlier" she stopped having a crush on the other girl.

Its even worse since the entire message of the manga (till the last 3 chapters or so) was "Gender does not matter when it comes to love" and the MCs crush fell in love with her because of that. Then it made a 180 and said "I am a girl, I need a dick in me!"

I highly doubt Kase-sans behavior is supposed to be "possessive".

Death of the author, and all that. What it's supposed to be and how it comes across are two different things.

It comes across as a cute, fluffy yuri story with mild drama. I do not see Kase-san "possessive" at all. Please remember that her girlfriend goes with a stranger (to Kase) to a fucking mixer (its not like this is a harmless social gathering) with college boys who will definitely try to get her into their bed.

I uphold the notion that Kase-san has been analyzed more than the Zapruder film.

The MC in Idol Pretender falling for their best friend is not really an issue. Plenty of Gender Bender stories go this way (most actually). The actual issue with this story is that for 99% of the chapters the story told us "Gender does not matter". The girl the MC had a crush on when he was a guy even slowly turned and started to love MC even if she was a girl. Then suddenly...nope. Gender matters. A girl has to fuck a guy.

• Smart
• gets sold off to random guy
• but has found love at that horrid place hence the title

So far, I think it's interesting (?) But most people wouldn't read it, I think...

I suppose it wasn't her real hair colour? If she was telling the truth and they insisted it be dyed just so she fit in, they could all go die in fire for all I'd care. She shouldn't need to blend in and pretend - but Like I said she was probably lying.

Holy shit, Nevri. In that case, then you can kick out your tenant. You cannot rape them. Coercion is illegal. And the two instances ARE equivalent acts of coercion, legally. In this story, it was just a dramatic plot device, that's it. But in real life, you're proposing it's okay to rape someone if they owe you something. And an ultimatum is not a free choice, it's still rape.

When a landlord intentionally rents to women that they know won't be able to pay rent, then demands sexual favors from them so they can stay, it's not okay.

And of course everyone would support asking for rent, that's what you can do in a civilized society. You cannot demand sex as payment, for anything. Ever. EVER.

Oh man... why serialize this one? Would be pretty shitty if it ends like the oneshot. The only wayit would be worthwile to produce this, is to introduce other characters on the run, that get developed and these two may fall in love with OR they actually have the same route, BUT realize they love each other after all and get back together. Imo the oneshot didnt justfeel like friends with benefits, well who knows.

Dunno. Those two seem to work better together as friends and wingwomen. How often do we get two friends who are both gay and just hang around and support each other? Maybe talking about the perks of girls the see in a club.
