I like how this series actually moves relatively fast, but feels slowburn cos of the time between updates.

This is too cute, my heart can't handle it.

This chapter felt like it took a bit of a turn in the storytelling from what was planned, like the "mysterious chalk girl" from last chapter ended up just being the senpai? Also feels a bit weird for Airi to suddenly be shocked by the thought of dating Tsugu when she's been thirsty af last couple chapters.

Not sure what to think of this, I never really saw a problem with the first chapters events, my main issue is that I don't really feel much chemistry between the two main characters. It comes across less as love, and more out of desperation to not be alone.

Will see how this develops.

I wonder if the author is actually gonna throw a plot twist and have Izumi be in love with Kanade instead of Fujishiro.

Chapter 9 is gone?

This series is such a fucking thriller on my heart, just waiting for the jumpscare of feels.

Yeah, this is so completely baked into the premise of the story I'm not sure why it seems to bother people--from the POV of readers (this one, anyway), Yamada certainly is an adorable little turnip, but Kase is totally gaga over her and is convinced that everyone else will be too.

I guess it might bother people who have dealt with partners who were truly possessive, and experienced similar things (though in less cute format). Or people who just want to observe the absolute adorableness that this series is without any hint of possible future drama.

Personally I kinda like that character flaw, and I hope it actually gets developed a bit and used as a bigger plot point further down the line.

That's still stupid thinking, you can't blame all humans because one human kill you. She can be mad against the one she kill her yes and that's normal but getting mad over everyone because of one individual is too much of an amalgam.

Because emotions are always completely logical.

Man, why do I keep thinking that a high school manga would be anything but high school melodrama?

Really hoping they keep that momo guy for a later chapter and that his existence isn't just a convenient advice dispenser. But then again, if he comes back, he'll likely be that anyway judging by how this manga's been up till now.

Considering how slow this manga moves it's probably going to be about 20 chapters until we see him again.

Ah, I see. I thought you were suggesting a different timeline where some of the earlier chapters were subsequent to Igarashi’s return. My mistake.

(Actually, the two-ply vs one-ply toilet-paper disagreement was kind of a tough moment. Lol)

Very true, most relationships do not survive that.

If I'm reading the timeline correctly their relationship is pretty new at this point as well. If they got together a month after valentines, and this is the summer after that then they've gone out like a few months at most at this point. So I'm guessing this is where they too realized just how serious their relationship was.

I’m not quite following the argument. It’s true that Nanoha and Chidori confessed at the beginning of their second year of high school. Therefore, everything from the beginning of the series except the explicit flashbacks takes place during the spring and summer of their second year, and the last thing we see of them in the narrative present is the fireworks festival (i.e., still the summer break prior to the fall/winter terms of their second year).

So while it’s true that the period of time depicted is fairly short (March through July/August), I don’t get much sense that they are actually becoming more serious; it’s more that, partly impelled by circumstances, they’re expressing it (a bit) more openly.

All I meant is that due to the short time that has passed they haven't really faced anything that would have shaken their relationship before this.

One good thing the whole Igarashi arc does is to highlight that Chidori and Nanoha are serious about their relationship.

That wasn’t always so clear (at least to some readers) in the earlier, fluffier chapters—there were suggestions that, because they were keeping their relationship a secret, and because there was (at that point) no kissing, they were just playing at being lovers.

I remind any future participants in this story:

Do.NOT.fuck.with.Nanoha’s.Chidori.

And vice versa.

If I'm reading the timeline correctly their relationship is pretty new at this point as well. That was....short. Senpai still a bitch.

There are quite a lot of people on this forum thinking that a 15 y/o should be as wrecked and scornful as themselves.

it was more that i'm tired of seeing romance stories where one party hurts the other party in a very deep, fundamental way and it always seems to get brushed under the rug in favor of "but we love each other so it's okay you hurt me so bad"

i'm not saying they shouldn't have ever gotten back together, but shizuka has been more or less jerking around mio from the start, and that level of hurt should've had consequences for shizuka outside of "go outside and think about what you've done"

I'm not sure how any of this qualifies as the issue being "brushed under the rug".

That...was better than I expected. I thought if they ended up making up it would feel weird and forced...but I'm glad to have been proved wrong.

...the hell? That was like setting up the beginning of a final arc and then being told "finish this in one chapter"

Quite possibly exactly what happened.

Okay. it is a happy ending. and it doesn#t seem totally out of place. But so rushed... Maybe the mangaka was scared of the reaction, once it became clear where this was headed and just put evverything in one chapter?

A lot of people seem to be saying it was cancelled, but not sure if that's true. Certainly would explain the somewhat rushed end.

Yay for the ending! There are some readers like me who want a good poly ending to all dumb triangle drama and this one does it!

Btw, is the series done or is there an epilogue or something like that?

Everywhere I looked it's listed as "ongoing" so I imagine there will be atleast one more chapter.

Atleast it's better than that other Manga that was about photography and yuri smh.

You talking about "My Joy"? Cos anything has a better ending than that pile of shit.

So it’s a mid-re-boot?

Kinda like going back to original (better) source material and having a better outline for how the story will progress with multiple couples instead of just the one age gap. I’ll be interested to seeing how this plays out (kinda like watching a juggler juggling five balls at once instead of one).

Kinda I guess, personally hoping we get a lot more of the two other couples, since they got very little in the original.

joined Dec 18, 2018

Hmm... it appears there’s a mistake in titling and organizing this story: “adolescence” and “luminescence” is what’s different in the title.

This story should belong to its own category and separate/individual comment thread with a starting comment by uploader or moderator saying previous works help derive chapter 1.

I wouldn’t say this is a continuation but a reboot or re-hash.

This is definitely a continuation, but not a sequel as it's clearly set in the middle of the original story. Guessing it expands upon the story of all the couples, but won't change what happened before.

This looks cute and promising.

I am still afraid of the ending on the Oneshot, and this current development isn't helping on the slightest!

Depends what route it takes tbh, they don't need to end up together if it's written well. I do hope we avoid any cheating cliches though.
