More good news from Su. ^_^

I called her today morning and she says she can't really decide between wanting to bury herself in her bedsheets, because the drug cocktail from the surgery hasn't completely worn off yet and it makes her feel like wanting to puke and sleep at the same time or wanting to jump in joy, because she can actually feel the new heart beating in her chest. To quote her: "It feels like someone's taken out my old heart and exchanged it for a muscle car engine." She said when her doctor visited her today morning, he was a bit taken aback, because apparently, Su already has the skin tone of a healthy person (she used to be very pale due to her chronically low blood pressure), which means the new heart seems to already feel comfy in its new environment. If it stays that way, she probably won't need to take any heart stimulating medicine. He also told her, that the surgeons told him her old heart had apparently stopped beating not even a full minute after it was removed from her body, which is apparently a statement of how weak it really was. She also complained about not being able to see anyone for a week, about having to stay in hospital again, about disgusting hospital food and uncomfortable hospital clothes, about having an extremely annoying, stinging pain inside her chest, about the stitches itching like crazy and her not being allowed to scratch...so that means she's fine overall. xD If Su has the energy to whine, it means she's okay. I wasn't able to talk much longer to her after that, because her doctor came in and asked her to end the call, since it was time to run a number of tests on her. So that's it for now.

Hey guys.

Good news: Su made it through the surgery without complications. It'll still take a while for her to wake up though. She's gonna be in intensive care for 5 days now. First so she can recover properly and secondly because the doctors will need to almost completely shut down her immune system so her body won't fight the new heart. That means she needs to stay in an environment where the risk of an infection is as low as possible. It also means neither me nor anyone else except hospital staff will be allowed to see her for the next 5 days. However, she'll have her personal landline phone in her room and will be allowed to take calls.

As for how it will go after she's released from the ICU, she will stay in hospital for about 2 to 3 more weeks before they'll transfer her to the cardiological rehab clinic in Rüdersdorf (that's about 30 kilometers away from Berlin) where she will stay for another 3 to 4 weeks. Once the new heart is functioning 100% and her body has accepted it, she'll be allowed to go home again. But for now, prepare to not see her around for a long time. I'll keep you updated on her as often as I can though.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll log off now to drive home and spend the rest of the day on the couch with tea and the pets and try to recover from the nervous breakdown I had a few hours ago.

Well, Su's phone has been broken for a few days now, so that makes texting a bit difficult. xD We both also don't really like it when we have to continously switch back and forth between focusing on different conversations. So when we run into each other here, we just talk here instead of in private cause our minds get lazy like that. xD At least we have enough decency to not take our relationship fights here. You don't want to know how many times I've witnessed that happening in other forums. =_=

Ahhh its cherry blossom season soon!

One of the main reasons why I just have to visit an Asian country one of these days. We have a park with a few cherry blossom trees in Berlin as well, but I think it's just not the same.

I did have a few affairs, but it wasn't anything big. xD I think I had flings going with 4 or 5 girls, so nothing too wild, really. Honestly, compared to some of my fellow students, I was tame. xD

Nope. =_= However, luckily some students usually realize when they're being taught bullshit and the headmasters usually listen to what the students have to say. So if this is what he's teaching, he probably won't be doing it for much longer. xD

Also, another thing, which ticked me off a little today, was me having to remind the majority of people I spoke with today that I actually am a doctor and unless I give someone permission to call me "miss", I really do want to be addressed as such. We all got name tags so we can skip boring introductions. There's our names, titles and alma mater on these tags. I've been giving my best to respectfully address everyone I had a conversation with with their title, so the least they could do is to do the same. There's a "Doctor" on my name tag, because I studied for 8 long and sometimes pretty hard years to gain that title, and not because I fucked all my professors to breeze through uni. However, judged by the looks most of these old farts give me, that's exactly what they seem to think. /sighs/ It's hard being young in this business...

Educational! xD A bunch of colleagues from the behaviorism department gave presentations about recent studies, theories and theses today. Some of them were really good! Others though...not so much. There was one guy, who embarrissingly enough was a professor and actively teaching at a uni, claimed that young people could actually have the ability to be completely self-sufficient and independent by the age of 13 and the only reason, why they are still so dependent on guidance in that age is because their parents and teachers do not "challenge" them enough. You know, where I studied, we had a slightly different word for this "challenging" he spoke about: negligence. I mean, any healthy person usually has the ability to take care of themselves when they need to, even when they're really young. But that doesn't mean we should strive for that. Experiences of this kind tend to leave horrible scars on a soul and that's where people like me usually come in so we can fix what others fucked up. =_= I'll stop here. Well, but as you can see: this guy pissed me off. I hope his students have by now learned not to listen to him. >_< But like I said, there was also pretty good stuff. I stopped attending after 7 presentations though. My brain just couldn't take anymore. xD

How about you? You had to see your doctor today, right? What did he say?

The first day was pretty interesting. I got to know a bunch of people and I'm telling you, a few of them have a few screws loose. We received a pretty detailed 101 on what the week would be about and I'm really excited! They're going to reveal results of a lot of different behavior studies to us, which is what I'm looking forward to the most. The hotel is pretty good as well. The food could be better, but the bed in my room is ridiculously comfortable! Wish I could share it with you. ;D

Exactly. I mean, I studied and am doing what I'm doing now, because that's what I want to do. My parents have their jobs for the same reason. It's not about success, it's just about striving to get better at doing what you love so you can do more things in the field you feel best in. Some people earn more money for it, and others don't. As long as you feel happy and proud of what you're doing, what's the issue? ^_^

When I told them the story of how we first met, they were convinced I couldn't have chosen a better person. I'm fairly certain they're going to squeeze the life out of you the moment they first see you. You have nothing to be afraid or ashamed of, so relax. :-)
