Back from the wedding which was really nice and fun. Always a good excuse to get drunk and dance all night ^^. No incidents with that woman; she doesn't dance so we were away from her pretty much the whole time. Was even better once the older generation at the party left, because I think there's this odd thing that happens with lgbt acceptance where people think any openly gay couple is really extra adorable or something. The groom's aunt told kanojo/me and another couple (two guys) that we were so cute on multiple occasions. It's not the worst thing that could happen, but it's sort of weird when you know it's just because you're the same sex as your partner lol. She didn't do it to anybody else, not even the bride and groom...

It's funny how WDTFS fans can talk about newest chapters in discussion thread normally and Pulse thread has trolls...

The early parts of the WDTFS thread are riddled with complaints about the teaser aspect here on Dynasty and not wanting to pay and things of that nature. Now it's mostly people who already are committed to reading the series where as Pulse is still new. Also WDTFS has largely been unpredictable even in the presence of tropes, and I think for Pulse it will take some time before we know if there's a big twist instead of just "love is for suckers. Oh this dying girl just makes me all dokidoki, let me deny my feelings for multiple volumes and then finally break out the U-Haul." I actually wouldn't mind either way, but there's more to talk about if the readers are constantly guessing.

Only was able to skim chapter 8 before having to leave for a wedding, but I think Lynn's combination of smugness and jealousy of Mel's collection of women pretty cute and funny. Will have to give it another read once I'm home tomorrow ^^

Cool, it's always nice when we're ahead of the planned schedule, especially if you can do the rest in advance, I assume her day was also tiring since she's already sleeping?

She always falls asleep earlier than I do, but yeah she had a long day and the new job overall has just been too many hours so far. Feels like I hardly see her other than the weekends.

Isn't it more practical to have separated suit cases?

Usually for just a weekend we'd share one suitcase; it's not like we need that much, but for a wedding you have to doll up and have a couple different pairs of shoes and all that so I don't know what she wants. Also we inevitably end up sharing a lot of stuff. We have very different closets, but everything waist up is fair game - belts, shirts, accessories, makeup... I'm just quite a bit taller than she is so pants and shoes don't work out.

And you don't need to use the collar annd leash all the time, can use sometimes at night, nothing wrong with having some pet play, just need to chose if you're a cat or dog. xD

Maybe. If I had to guess, I don't think I'll have any issues keeping her near me. She's a pretty quiet person when it comes to large groups of people, but she is pretty protective and, as a category, doesn't like people who hit on me. Which is pretty funny since I flirt with... a lot of people... and she's never really minded.

I think at the earliest it would be the middle of next year. Planning a wedding right now seems extra daunting when she's so busy with the new job and things have piled up on me lately as well. About the party, it's not like I can't just sit there and deal with it for a few hours, but I know it will pretty much be people telling me I finally wised up.

No PS4 for me any time soon, same for Vita, I have PS3 already besides some others, I think first I'll buy a good PC to play any game at best quality, console is better for exclusive games, with a good PC I would at least be able to play anything else that is not exclusive, download pirated version and use any money for PS4, Vita, XBOX 360, Wii U, and so on, but I admit that I wanted to have a PS4 and Vita soon for some games, like FFVII. (T^T)

Yeah I probably will at least wait a bit before I get one. It would definitely be me buying it, and I don't like to drop a few hundred bucks on something I don't use that often. No way my mom or kanojo will get one for me, and it seems a little pricy for a gift from one of my brothers lol.

I pass by this spot every day when I walk my dog. It's really beautiful and makes me happy. The weather has been pretty good here lately aside from a little bit of rain here and there. It actually snowed the other day for a bit.. xD

Thanks :) No wedding yet lol. Not even engaged yet. I just told kanojo that I was figuring out a ring for her and wanted her to come help choose the setting, so she was very happy. Our anniversary is coming up in July, so she says she wants to exchange the rings then. Her ring is going to take a month or so before it's ready anyway. No wedding date or anything like that, even though both our mothers are already in a tizzy. Her mom wants to throw an engagement party for us which seems like a really fantastically awkward thing to do considering most of the people in our lives know what happened with the first proposal lol...

Think it was early April I was at a bachelorette party and we were all really drunk and one of the bride's friends came into my bed and was getting out of hand and not responding to anything verbal so I punched her in the face. If you recall any conversations about me having a really swollen hand, that's the situation I was referring to. Anyway, we're going to the wedding this weekend lol. I think it will be fine honestly. Bachelorette parties as a category involve way more liquor than the wedding reception.

No wedding yet. It's this weekend. I said this morning I wouldn't be on here for the rest of the week because I'm busy getting work done since kanojo and I are going to leave tomorrow afternoon. I'm exhausted because I was cramming so much into my day, but I'm actually in good shape now and don't have to worry about much tomorrow. I said the plan would backfire because Lin was suggesting I have a collar and leash for kanojo at the wedding in case she has too much to drink and confronts that woman, but for sure if I actually tried that, she would turn it around on me and I'd be the puppy by the end of the night.

It usually isn't it is almost always someone who is offended by something wanting depictions to be banned, be it communism, homosexuality, black power, or lolicon drawings.

That's the same thing as not understanding how freedom of speech works. They think they can impose their beliefs on someone else, without considering that they're impeding someone else's rights. What I quoted was basically implying that people believe they can say whatever they want and it's protected under free speech, which isn't true, and that's an enormous misconception.

You cannot say shit that can potentially result in the death of another person or cause irreparable harm; defamation and false accusation and (egregious) false advertisement all fall under this. You can freely practice your faith so long as your actions do not hinder someone else's ability to freely practice their faith; e.g. some guy ripping away a Muslim woman's hijab on a plane, exposing her hair, is not protected under his freedoms, because he infringed on someone else's freedom of religion. The press should expose information to the public, so long as it doesn't potentially bring harm to a victim or child.

It looks like I may have gotten something wrong about the US laws. My understanding was that if the depiction of underage sex wasn't considered an artistic expression and is explicitly pornographic then it counts as child porn. Sorry if I had that wrong.

Good morning everyone, thought I'd give the thread a bump as I have to say goodbye for the rest of the week. Will be busy most of today and tomorrow with work before kanojo and I head out of town for a wedding (not ours lol... :|). Don't have too much fun without me :)

I get all the responses to what I said here, just am not really up for individually responding to them. I'll just note that it was sparked by the idea of promoting this kind of material as "pure love" or however LoliCake put it. Sure there's such a thing as over-regulation, but it's already clear that there are limits to freedom of speech. You can't threaten to kill or assault someone, falsely yell "Fire!" in a crowded building, among other things that could cause potential harm. In particular, the US regulates how smoking can be advertised, and that it can't be intentionally advertised to children. So when I was saying Japan is behind the times on banning, I meant that they should ban the promotion of hypersexualized or pornographic depictions of children, something that we do have in the US. That's just how I feel about the topic; clearly several of you disagree, and that perfectly fine.

Nez, even though I retracted it, because it seemed like I overstepped with comments similar to Substance's, I thought I'd mention that if you have boundaries about what you want to hear from other people, it might be worth stating them when you share your work. I don't think anybody here is out to upset you, but when you offer up a piece to the public, it seems as open to critique as anything else posted here on dynasty. I think anybody bothering to give a detailed response to you has the best of, or at least non-negative, intentions. I hope you don't take it as a slight when folks are willing to share their thoughts on how to improve your writing, since you're part (if not, the queen) of the Dynasty community that we all appreciate. That said, I hope you get to the point of taking in critique in all its forms, since sifting through criticism for what can really improve your work is a great skill for a writer.

I already don't like loli art, but loli age gap is the last thing I'd promote. It's something that Japan is behind the times on banning. If there are explicit depictions of sex in them, it would count as child pornography by US law. If we tagged it as kiddie porn here, people would have a completely different inclination to read it here.

Simple: fire her. Also, what you mentioned is a possible scenario for literally every new person you employ. You never know until you give them a chance. And if they've proven to be worthy of getting one, I say let them have it.

True, but interviews are for increasing the chances that the person turns out to be a good one. Otherwise you'd just be pulling anybody off the street and seeing if it worked out.

Also, and this is just a very personal opinion without meaning to offend, but I also think bringing that kind of issue up to the team and thus possibly influencing their decision wether she will get the job or not...well, it seems cowardly. Like a cheap way out of facing someone and telling them no. /shakes head/ Not something I would do, personally. But that's just me.

I think there are negative take aways about my personality regardless lol. As I've said, not inclined to say anything, largely because it is something only I had to deal with and she seems pretty good otherwise. I don't know if she'll get the job yet anyway. It'll probably be her, since I don't think the other woman we gave an offer will actually take it, or will ask for a contract we can't agree on, but it's still a possibility.

Geez Dofu, it's one not so good experience with a person you've literally just met. xD Don't jump to conclusions right away. If she actually gets the job and does try to pursue you, there's still always the chance to talk to her in private and call her out on her behavior. If she doesn't drop it, then I would bring it up to the others. And if it turns out that her trying to go after you isn't the only bothersome thing about her, well then there is no way how either you or anyone else could have known. If she stayed professional throughout the entire interview and nobody had anything bad to say about it, it generally means she can be professional. She might just have a slightly different perspective on it, but that's probably nothing a simple talk wouldn't be able to fix. xD Anyway. Not my decision to make. But like I mentioned: I'd give her a chance first.

Yeah I think everything you're saying is on point for a first encounter with someone you'd potentially be friends with in the future lol. What she did isn't something I'd bat an eye at if it didn't happen with someone I'd potentially work with. Interviews are a fickle process based almost solely on first impression. It's perfectly normal for people to do one thing that ruins an opportunity for them. They move on and get a job elsewhere or stay where they are. These are all people that are currently employed. I've decided against people for what most would probably consider smaller issues; they're just usually related to the person's resume or something more blatantly part of the interview.
