This one has been up in the air for a while..."moderate" is typically the way of saying "sex, but not exactly hentai". We'll improve this at some point.
Then how about a rating system similar to yuri-ism's. 1-5.
Its to categorize on the amount/explicitness of sex contained. Having a 3-4 page sex scene at the end of the chapter is much different than a 20 page PWP of fully explicit sex. The difference between the two is subjective, but there is nothing wrong with that.
I never said there was something wrong with the two having differences, but I agree. It wouldn't count as hentai if only the last (or the beginning or the middle) four pages had sex scenes on it. Hey, since we have the dicks on page XX tag, why don't we add sex on the four last pages tag or sex on the last pages or better yet, moderate amounts of sex on the last four pages. I'm kidding.
Splitting the stuff up into 5 different subcategories is not only a lot of work, but doesn't really add much to the searching. We already have a psuedo 1 (not tagged with sex), 2 (nsfw
), 3 (moderate amounts of sex
?) and 4/5 (lots of sex
). The improving bit we're occasionally thinking of is helping the searching be more helpful. At the moment we need to shave down the two tags (either by renaming/re-purposing or whatever) into being more specific since right now they're really subjective for the uploader/tagger.
Hair
tag. Srsly, there's only one manga that has this tag.
shudder No. This tag is absolutely necessary as a warning/fetish.
I just feel like this site will turn into a porn site if we add them tags like "oral", "big boobs", "flat-chested", "foot job", "scissoring", "creampie" <-- these are all fetishes. (With some exceptions, like oral is a type of sex, foot job, etc.)
It's already an 18+ site. But we're not going to go that deep in tagging stuff. There's a reason these unique tags only have one or two stuff added to them (mostly for warning).
Creepy
tag. Isn't this synonymous to WTF am I reading?
tag
No, actually. While they can fall into each other, there is quite a bit of separation between the two. See these two links for creepy, but not WTF-worthy, stories; http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/the_visionary_replay_of_homuhomu http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/yukkuri_balloon
Ah, so it has a certain degree of creepyness but is not worthy of the wtf am I reading tag. I see. So, again, I propose that we have a grading system for creepyness/weirdness of a manga/doujin.
I don't feel that the amount of effort to do that would prove much usefulness. Maybe this would need to undergo the shaving we're attempting for moderate/lots of sex but it wouldn't be a high priority in comparison.
- Hair tag. Srsly, there's only one manga that has this tag
- Communism tag. Again, only one manga has this tag.
It is totally okay to have a tag that only applies to one chapter. The purpose of tags is to both describe the chapter and to find similar chapters.
I agree. I just thought that, it would be hard to classify/organize mangas if we create too many tags. I personally prefer more generalised tags like: yuri, romance, shoujo, shoujo-ai, supernatural, comedy, etc. but not blushing, abandonment issues, pregnant (seems like these tags are spoiling the plot or a part of the story to me). But of course, this is just my view point.
We're not aiming for too many tags either. Pregnant
serves to be a warning for that LWB dj; it won't be attached to anything else (that'd be super rare as heck anyway without magic or science babies). Abandonment issues
could possibly be removed. I would have to read/re-read the few things that are tagged with it to check whether it adds anything to a search in comparison with other stuff.
Its for stories where Zombies or Ghosts are the only supernatural element, to be more descriptive about what it contains.
Then there is no real purpose for the supernatural tag because, vampires, zombies, ghosts are all sub-categorization of the supernatural tag. If we are aiming for specificity, we have to make it straight to the point.
Sometimes there's supernatural stuff without a sub-categorization like that. If someone wanted something out of the norm, they'd search supernatural
. Separating the ones without the zombies and such from the "normal" pile seems more beneficial than not IMO.
Communism
tag. Again, only one manga has this tag.
Well, we don't want to take ourselves too seriously...
What do you mean?
Means we're not trying to be wikipedia or exhentai and whatnot. Sometimes we'll make joke tags like tracing
because we find it tickles our funny bones.
