Scanlators are looking at a disaster stemming from someone else owning the distribution/picture hosting and decide that in light of that they are going to use another site that suffers from same problem? Use it exclusively, with no other way to read/DL their releases?
For how long do they think Facebook is going to allow scanlation hosting? They are clearly violating copyright and it's just a matter of someone reporting it.

And take away jobs from real human beings? Currently, robots only do stuff that's either too hard, too dangerous or too repetitive/monotone for a human to do, and also only when it's cheaper to use a robot. Sex industry and military engagements would qualify for being offloaded to robots as soon as it's economically viable. Especially if we are talking about humanoid robots. Warbots would certainly benefit from being able to use all the weapons, vehicles and infrastructure that's already in place for human soldiers, as well as being able to fit onto human-sized door frames.
Sexbots would benefit from having humanoid shape too, obviously.
For most other areas, using humanoid bodies would be too expensive and not needed. For example, why make a robot car driver if you can fit all the necessary logic circuits into the car itself? Or why make a room of robot bean counters/pencil pushers when you can just put incoming paper documents into the scanner and have the rest of document flow in electronic form governed by a mainframe?

I might be mistaken, it was a long time since I re-watched Marimite, but IIRC, Sachiko's distrust of men came from most of her male relatives' infidelity. They all had mistresses in addition to wives. Then her arranged marriage with Kashiwagi was soured by him revealing his gayness, explaining that while he will comply to marital duty, all the fun will be had with his lover(s) on the side. She really liked him until that moment and probably felt very betrayed.

I realise what it means in modern context, but seeing "organic egg" mentioned makes me snicker about possible inorganic eggs, like with Silicon instead of Carbon.

That depends on the setting and time period. In modern times, bringing mammoth tusks will prove you a thief, or at least unofficial digger. But in 19th century it'd show you an adventuring gentleman with enough money and pluck to dig one out of frozen wastes of tundra, or at least enough connections and money to buy one.
